Enhance Fitness

Each class session includes cardiovascular, strength training, balance and  flexibility exercises and the fostering of strong social relationships between participants. Enhance®Fitness is geared toward older adults. Those with a chronic condition, such as arthritis, need not worry; they will never have to do anything that hurts. Participants can use chairs for support, if necessary, and use wrist and ankle weights for strength training.

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

1:15 pm – 2:15 pm  in the Group Exercise Room

*Class is offered at no cost to participants with a referral.

WOW (Women On Weights)

Strong Women Unite

Boost your confidence by learning proper lifting techniques in a small group setting. This 6 week program, for women only, meets oncea week to help you gain muscle and build strength.

Exercise is Medicine

This program provides individuals with access to the facility and programs to help transition smoothly from a clinical setting, like physical therapy, to a community setting. A member of our team will contact the participant after they register to set up their one-on-one consultation meeting. The participant will be shown exercises they can do to continue their therapy based on the prescription from the physician.

Kick Start

Let us guide you in the right direction to achieve goals in your overall wellness. A coach will help you navigate the YMCA and review current programs offered. We are here to help you discover what works best for you. This program is offered at no cost to active members at the Sumter Family YMCA.

Your Kick Start coach will:

· Take you on a tour of our YMCA

· Provide an individual consultation

· Engage you in a fitness center orientation

· Assist with an InBody analysis

Members must be at least 15 years old

Members may register at the member service desk for one Kick Start orientation.

Indoor Cycling

Indoor cycling is a great cardiovascular workout for anyone! Our cycling classes are offered in different formats throughout the week. We are proud to be the only indoor cycling facility in Sumter! Personal Training

Whether you want to improve your overall health, increase your strength, train for a  special event or just become more comfortable with using exercise equipment, personal training may be your answer. No matter your health or wellness goal, the YMCA’s personal training program can provide you the support and motivation you need to reach it.

Cost: Sessions available for $35 per hour
